‘Tis the season to give back to charity! As you start planning dates and events in your 2019 calendars, be sure to include some of these philanthropy events you won’t want to miss. Our members shared with us some of their favorite events to attend, all while supporting a great cause.
1. HeartGift Gala – Nicole Kessler, Compass Real Estate
Benefiting children from Third World countries in need of life-saving heart surgery, the HeartGift Gala is attended by over 400 people each year. Top industry leaders and community influencers will gather April 11, 2019 for a night of socializing, live music and more!
2. UMLAUF Garden Party – Jeannette Spinelli, Austin Portfolio Real Estate
The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum is hosting their 21st annual Garden party on April 25, 2019. Enjoy delicious bites and exquisite wines, along with specially orchestrated performances by local Austin performers.
3. ZACH Theatre’s Red Hot & Soul – Eric Copper, Austin Portfolio Real Estate
Red, Hot & Soul will feature dinner, cocktails and entertainment on May 4, 2019. Funds raised will help support ZACH’s educational programs, allowing over 55,000 Austin children and students annually to attend performances, classes and summer camps.
4. Lakeway Police Bingo – Amber Hart, Keller Williams Luxury
Support the Lakeway Police Foundation with a night of old-school BINGO and a slice of fresh, wood-fire grilled pizza from Papa Murphy’s Pizza. A date has not yet been set for 2019, so keep your eyes peeled!
5. Ballet Austin Fête – Wade Giles, Moreland Properties
Named one of Austin’s “Best Black Tie Events” for years, Ballet Austin’s Fête unites the city’s top tastemakers and art enthusiasts to a night consisting of an extravagant three-course dinner, live auction and VIP access to fête*ish. With no 2019 date announced yet, Fête will be sure to keep you on your toes.
6. Junior League of Austin’s A Christmas Affair – Charlotte Lipscomb, Compass Real Estate
This four-day holiday event raises funds to provide essential funding and volunteer hours to over 30 local community non-profits. A Christmas Affair will be open November 20-24, 2019, featuring merchants from all over the country, along with a large volunteer force of Junior League of Austin members.
7. Center for Child Protection’s Dancing with the Stars – Luisa Mauro, Luisa Mauro Real Estate
Benefiting child abuse victims in Travis County, this year’s Dancing with the Stars event will provide a night full of amazing routines and entertainment, along with philanthropy and raffle drawings, all for a good cause. The 2019 date has not yet been set, so keep your December open for this spectacular event!
